Sean plays Shalako, the title role of his first film since 007, set in the Wild west he is the hero in this adaptation of Louis L'Amour's novel. Once again sticking to his own accent Sean said - "There are plenty of Scots immigrants out west,so I had no fear of being out of character" Also starring Bridget Bardot, Jack Dawkins and Honor Blackman. Sean's on sreen romance with Brigitte bardot lacks chemistry, but the film is watchable due to its European presence making it different from the norm. Filmed in Almeria, Spain it was quite a tense period but Sean handles the dramatic action sequences with skill.

The Film had a Royal premiere in London but the public was unenthused with it and all it really served as was the beginning of Sean's long route out of Bond.
